PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

What is Preventative Maintenance?
Preventative Maintenance is a schedule of planned maintenance actions aimed at the prevention of breakdowns and failures.  The primary goal is to prevent the fail of equipment before it actually occurs.  The result of a successful PM extends the life of the equipment and minimizes downtime for busy kitchens.

Why Is This Important?
Wear and tear of equipment used constantly in a busy kitchen is a common problem.  With regular preventative maintenance,  components that are worn during an inspection  can be replaced before they fail .  Regular adjustment and lubrication will also enhance equipment liability.

What Is Involved In Preventative Maintenance?
It is a planned and controlled program of systematic inspection, adjustment, lubrication, and replacement of components, as well as performance testing and analysis.  A good Preventative Maintenance program ensures that equipment runs properly and reduces loss of production.

School Summer PM / Camp Opening PM
Seasonal restaurants and camps also use a form of PM for opening and closing down for optimal equipment performance.
